JavaScript is a Simple Language
Learning JavaScript, syntax and conventions, has been relatively simple so far. I have read 140 pages of JavaScript: The Definitive Guide by David Flanagan. In addition to reading the book, I have been taking an interactive course on codecademy. While the syntax and conventions are relatively simple, the application is not as simple. I have a feeling it will become clearer as I continue to study JavaScript.
Many Applications Later
Over the last 7 months I have applied to numerous career opportunities ranging from internships for recent graduates to Junior Software Developer positions. I do not have much industry experience and have limited myself to applying to positions in that range to gain the necessary experience. I am excited to start my career. Interviews have been quite scarce since graduating. I assumed it was my lack of experience and began making projects and studying until I had a portfolio that would catch someone’s eye.

Senior year at WSU has been rough because of my brain decompression surgery. My neck is often sore leading to headaches. Thankfully, I am able to have flexible attendance in most of my classes. I have been able to keep up with my studies but large projects have been difficult to get done before their deadlines.

“What the heck is going on?” This was the thought that went through my head as I began to lose feeling in my left side. It felt like I was having a stroke. Numbness and tingling throughout the left side of my body resulting in difficulty walking and talking. It all started in December of 2017 while I was studying for my finals in the Fall of my Junior year. Fast forward a little to being diagnosed with a Type 1 Chiari Malformation.
